Bovine Infectious Rhinotracheitis (RIB) is a contagious
infectious disease caused by a virus belonging to the Herpesviridae Family and
called Herpes Bovine Virus type 1 (HBV 1). It is generally known as a
respiratory tract disease characterized by rhinitis, tracheitis and fever, with
abortion being the most serious direct consequence from an economic point of
view (Berríos, 1982)

The economic losses in the herds of the country by the virus IBR are very high. It is our duty as veterinarians to prevent, control and treat these infectious diseases in search of animal welfare and productivity of the country's livestock sector.
